Your Rights as a Patient

You have the right to:

    Receive care that is respectful of your personal values, beliefs, and cultural background—free from discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ability to pay.
  • Privacy and Confidentiality
    Expect that your medical information will be kept private and shared only with those involved in your care or as required by law.
  • Informed Consent
    Be fully informed about your diagnosis, treatment options, and potential outcomes so you can make informed decisions about your care.
  • Participation in Care Decisions
    Be involved in planning your care, including the right to accept or refuse treatment.
  • Access to Medical Records
    Review and request copies of your medical records within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Emergency Care
    Receive emergency care when and where it is needed, regardless of your ability to pay.
  • Grievance Process
    Voice concerns or complaints about your care without fear of retaliation and receive a timely response.

Your Responsibilities as a Patient

To help us provide safe and effective care, we ask that you:

  • Provide Accurate Information
    Share complete and honest information about your health history, symptoms, and any medications you are currently taking.
  • Follow the Care Plan
    Work with your healthcare team to follow the agreed-upon treatment plan and ask questions if you have any questions or concerns.
  • Respect Staff and Other Patients
    Treat healthcare providers, staff, and fellow patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Meet Financial Obligations
    Pay your bills promptly, or contact our billing office if you need assistance or require a payment plan.
  • Follow Facility Rules
    Abide by hospital policies regarding safety, visitation, and conduct.
