Continue Your Recovery Close to Home

Sometimes you’re ready to leave acute hospital care, but you’re not quite ready to go home. The Swing Bed Program at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation services to help bridge that gap.

A Swing Bed allows a hospital room to transition from acute inpatient care to skilled care. This gives eligible patients more time to recover, rebuild strength, and prepare for a safe return home with support from our nursing, clinical, and rehabilitation teams.

If you’ve had surgery or received medical treatment along the Front Range or elsewhere, Swing Bed care may allow you to return to your community and continue your recovery closer to family, friends, and the people you trust.

Who Can Benefit from Swing Bed Care?

Swing Bed care may be appropriate for patients who no longer require an acute hospital stay but still need skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or medical support before returning home.

Patients may benefit from Swing Bed care following:

  • Orthopedic surgery, including joint replacement or fractures
  • Surgery or hospitalization requiring additional recovery time
  • An accident, injury, or illness
  • IV therapy that needs to be continued or completed
  • Wound care
  • A hospital stay that has resulted in a need for additional strengthening and rehabilitation

Our goal is to help patients with rehabilitation potential gain the strength, skills, and confidence needed to return home as safely and independently as possible.

Comfortable Care in a Hospital Setting

While recovering at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, Swing Bed patients have access to:
